Investment Trusts (ITs)
Investment Trusts (ITs) are public limited companies whose sole purpose is to buy and sell shares of other companies to make profits for their own shareholders.
I.T.s are one of the oldest types of pooled investment.
The share capital subscribed by the shareholders is pooled to create a large investment fund managed by investment experts.
Since I.T.s invest in a wide spread of companies, the risk to the individual shareholder is far lower than direct investment in securities.
